Since launch, Typlo has been a tool for individuals. You install it, create your snippets, and they expand anywhere on your machine. No accounts, no cloud, no complexity. That model works well for personal use and small teams where everyone manages their own setup.
But we have been hearing from IT teams and business owners who want something more: the ability to manage Typlo across an organization, push standardized snippets to everyone, control what features employees can access, and handle licensing at scale. Today we are sharing our plans to build exactly that.
Three Tiers, One Tool (Planned)
Typlo will be moving from a two-tier model (Free and Premium) to three:
| Tier | Price | For |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | Individuals, students. 5 snippets, all expansion features. |
| Premium | $24/year | Power users, freelancers. Unlimited snippets, same local-first model. |
| Enterprise (planned) | $60/seat/year (min 5 seats) | Businesses, IT teams. Admin portal, SSO, managed policies, team snippets. |
Nothing changes for Free and Premium users. Those tiers remain entirely local-first with no accounts required. Enterprise is additive: it layers cloud-based admin features on top of the same local-first architecture.
What Enterprise Will Include
Here is what we are planning to offer IT administrators:
Admin Portal
A web-based dashboard where IT manages the entire Typlo deployment. Add and remove seats, view usage statistics (trigger counts, not content), and configure policies, all from a browser.
SSO Authentication
Employees sign in with their existing company credentials via SAML 2.0 or OpenID Connect. No separate license keys to distribute. When someone joins the company, they get a seat. When they leave, it is automatically revoked.
Team Snippet Libraries
Admins can create shared snippet libraries that are pushed to every managed device. Team snippets are read-only on the employee's machine. They appear alongside personal snippets but cannot be edited or deleted locally. Standardize email templates, legal disclaimers, support responses, and more across your entire organization.
Policy Controls
IT can enforce rules across all managed devices:
- Disable data export: prevent employees from exporting snippet data (DLP compliance).
- Force encryption: ensure all local data is encrypted at rest, with no option to disable.
- Restrict custom scripts: block Python and JavaScript custom variables if your security policy requires it.
- Force auto-updates: employees cannot skip or defer updates.
- Approved variable whitelist: only allow IT-approved custom variables to execute.
- Audit logging: log which triggers are used and when (never the expanded content).
Seat Management
Purchase seats through the same Lemon Squeezy checkout, managed by IT. Add more seats as the team grows. Revoke seats when people leave. Each seat is priced at $60/year. This reflects the dedicated cloud infrastructure required to power the admin portal, SSO integration, team snippet delivery, policy enforcement, and audit logging that Enterprise demands.
What Will NOT Change
We want to be direct about this:
- Personal snippets never leave the device. Even under Enterprise management, the snippets you create personally are stored locally and are not visible to IT or synced to any cloud.
- No content in audit logs. Audit logging tracks trigger names and timestamps only. Your expanded text is never captured.
- Free and Premium stay the same. No accounts, no cloud, no admin control. If you are an individual user, nothing about your experience changes.
- The core app is identical. Enterprise users run the exact same Typlo application. Enterprise features are activated by a configuration file deployed by IT, not a separate build.
Privacy and Compliance
We know Enterprise customers in regulated industries will ask about compliance. The architecture is designed with SOC 2 principles in mind:
- Security: AES-256-GCM encryption at rest, admin-enforced encryption policy, SSO with customer IdP (supports MFA).
- Availability: Offline-capable with cached policies and team snippets. The app works without our servers.
- Confidentiality: Personal snippets never leave the device. Team snippets are pushed one-way (admin to device).
- Privacy: No PII beyond SSO email for seat assignment. Analytics pings are opt-out. GDPR/CCPA compatible.
A full security whitepaper will be available before Enterprise launches.
Timeline
Enterprise is currently in the planning and design phase and is not yet available. We are targeting initial availability later in 2026. All features and pricing described in this post are subject to change. If you are interested in being an early adopter or have specific requirements, reach out at enterprise@typlo.app.
We will share more details (admin portal design, API documentation, and deployment guides) as development progresses.
Why We Are Building This
Text expansion is a solved problem for individuals. The tools exist. But for teams, the story is different. Most enterprise text expansion tools require cloud sync of all content, charge significantly more per seat, and treat the admin experience as an afterthought.
We think there is a better approach: keep the tool local-first, give IT the controls they need without compromising employee privacy, and price it fairly. That is what Typlo Enterprise will be.
